Relistr Privacy Policy

Relistr is a Chrome extension that helps you refresh your own Facebook Marketplace listings by deleting and recreating them, either immediately or later from a saved backlog. It is operated by an individual developer based in New South Wales, Australia, who is the data controller for the purposes of this policy.

The short version

1. What we collect, why, and our legal basis

While you are on your Facebook Marketplace Selling page, Relistr reads your own listings (title, description, photos, price, location, condition, shipping and category details, and the date each was created) and the numeric Facebook account id already present in the page. It does this locally, in your browser, to carry out the actions you ask for.

Everything above is stored on your own device unless you sign in (section 2) or analytics is on (section 3). Relistr does not use Chrome's cross-device sync storage, so none of it reaches Google's servers that way.

Uninstalling Relistr deletes all of its local data, including backlog photos and videos.

2. Google sign-in and cloud sync (optional)

Signing in is never required, and nothing in this section applies unless you choose it.

Signing in. You sign in through Google's own consent screen. We request only the openid, email, and profile scopes, and use your email address and display name to authenticate you and show who is signed in. Signing in creates a Relistr account held with Supabase (section 4); the session tokens that keep you signed in are stored on your device and deleted when you sign out or delete your account. We never see your Gmail, contacts, calendar, Drive, or your Google password, and Relistr does not fetch, store, or display your Google profile picture.

What syncs. Your backlog listings and their media, the Facebook account id attached to each item, and your settings preferences, so they are available on every device you sign in on. This is stored with Supabase in the ap-southeast-2 (Sydney) region, isolated to your account: only your own signed-in session can read or write it. We do not read your listing content except as needed to operate, debug, or secure the service.

Turning listing sync off stops future uploads and downloads of listings and media. Settings preferences keep syncing while you stay signed in, including that choice itself.

Limited Use. Relistr's use of information received from Google APIs, and its handling of all user data, adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy and the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including their Limited Use requirements. We use that information solely to authenticate you and sync your own backlog and settings, never for advertising, and never for anything unrelated to Relistr's single purpose.

3. Analytics

What we collect. Events describing what you did, such as "Panel opened" or "Relist run completed", with non-identifying properties such as how many listings were selected, how long a run took, and which step failed. Also error and crash reports from Relistr's own code.

What we never collect. Analytics events never contain your listing content: no titles, descriptions, photos, prices, locations, or buyer information. No Facebook identifier ever reaches analytics, in raw or hashed form.

How events are identified. By a random identifier generated on your device. Relistr generates a separate one for each Facebook account you use it with, so two people sharing a computer are not treated as one person. Which Facebook account an identifier belongs to is recorded only on your own device and is never sent to us.

If you sign in, your Relistr account id and the email address on your account are attached to your analytics events. We do this only so activity from your different devices can be recognised as one account, and so we can support and debug your account and act on requests about your own data. It is never used for advertising or profiling. Guests send no email address.

Session recording. Relistr may record interactions with its own settings page, and with its on-page panel whenever your Marketplace Selling page is open. Facebook's own page content is blocked from those recordings, and your Google email and name are masked in the picture. Listing titles, prices, and photos shown inside Relistr's UI may appear, which is what makes recordings useful for debugging. Relistr never records any other website you visit.

Turning it off. Relistr settings, "Share usage data". Nothing further is sent and the identifiers are discarded from your device. Relistr works exactly the same either way.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. We do not use it for advertising, build advertising profiles, or use it to determine creditworthiness. We share it only with these providers, who act on our behalf and do not use it for their own purposes:

Using analytics or sync therefore means your data may be transferred to and stored in those countries, including outside the EEA, the UK, and Australia. We may also disclose data where legally required.

5. How long we keep it

Local data stays until you delete it or uninstall. Analytics, error reports, and session recordings are kept for 1 year and then deleted.

Deleting a backlog item removes its photos and videos from our storage and marks the cloud record deleted so your other devices drop their copy; the record's saved details remain until you delete your account. Options → Account → Delete account permanently removes your Relistr account and all account-linked cloud data.

None of turning analytics off, signing out, or deleting your account retroactively erases analytics already received. Ask us and we will delete it.

6. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (EU or UK GDPR, the Australian Privacy Act, or California law) you may also have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to our handling of your data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. Contact us and we will action them at no cost.

Complaints. Email boxistock@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you have the right to complain to your data protection authority: your local supervisory authority in the EEA, the ICO in the UK, or the OAIC in Australia.

7. Security

Everything sent off your device travels over HTTPS with modern TLS. Local data sits in the extension's own protected storage, which other websites and other extensions cannot read. Synced data is access-restricted to your own account. No method of storage is completely secure, but as a guest there is no server-side store of your content at all.

8. Children

Relistr is not intended for anyone under 18. Facebook Marketplace requires users to be 18 or older, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy if Relistr's data practices change, and the date at the top always reflects the current version. If a change is significant we will announce it in the extension where we can before it takes effect.
