Relistr Privacy Policy

1. Overview
Relistr is a Chrome extension that helps you refresh your own Facebook Marketplace listings by deleting and recreating them, either immediately or later from a saved backlog. It is operated by an individual developer based in New South Wales, Australia. This policy explains what Relistr accesses, what it stores, what leaves your device, and the choices you have.
The short version:
- Relistr has no account and no server. There is nothing to sign up for.
- Your listings, photos, backlog, and settings are stored on your own computer and never uploaded to us.
- Relistr never asks for, sees, or stores your Facebook password. It works through the browser session you are already signed in to.
- The only thing that leaves your device is anonymous product analytics, which you can turn off in settings. It contains no listing content and is not linked to your Facebook account.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
2. Data Relistr accesses
When you use Relistr on your Facebook Marketplace Selling page, the extension reads, from pages you are already viewing:
- Your own listings: title, description, photos, category, price, location, item condition, shipping settings, availability, category attributes (brand, colour, material and similar), and meetup preferences
- Listing metadata: the listing's creation date, used to show the freshness badges and drive "Select stale"
- Your Facebook account id: the numeric account identifier already present in the page. Relistr uses it only to tell your accounts apart, so that switching Facebook accounts can never show or repost another account's listings
This reading happens locally in your browser and is used solely to perform the actions you ask for. Relistr does not read your messages, friends, feed, notifications, or any part of Facebook outside Marketplace, and it does not read any other website. It is only ever active on facebook.com.
3. Data Relistr stores, and where
Everything in this section is stored on your own device, in the extension's private browser storage (chrome.storage.local and IndexedDB). None of it is transmitted to us or to anyone else. Relistr does not use Chrome's cross-device sync storage, so this data is not copied to Google's servers either.

Retention is entirely in your hands: this data lives on your device until you delete the relevant backlog item, or until you uninstall the extension, which removes all of it.
4. Analytics
This is the only data that leaves your device.
What we collect. Product usage events describing what you did, such as "Panel opened", "Relist run completed", or "Backlog listing removed", along with non-identifying properties such as how many listings were selected, how long a run took, whether it succeeded, and which step failed. We also collect error and crash reports, including error messages and stack traces from the extension's own code.
What we deliberately do not collect. Analytics events never contain your listing content. No titles, no descriptions, no photos, no prices, no locations, no buyer or seller information.
How events are identified. Events are attributed to a random identifier generated on your device when Relistr is first installed. It is not derived from your Facebook account, your email, or anything else about you, and it cannot be used to look you up on Facebook. It is deleted when you uninstall the extension.
Session recording. Relistr records interactions with its own settings page only (the extension's options page). It does not record Facebook, the Relistr panel that appears on the Selling page, or any other website you visit.
Who processes it. Analytics is processed by PostHog on our behalf, reached through a proxy we operate at check.boxistock.au. PostHog acts as our service provider and does not use the data for its own purposes. PostHog's privacy policy: https://posthog.com/privacy
Turning it off. Open the Relistr settings page and switch off "Share anonymous usage data". Nothing further is sent, and the random identifier is discarded. Relistr works exactly the same either way.
5. Data Relistr does NOT collect
- Your Facebook password or any login credential
- Your Facebook messages, contacts, feed, or any activity outside Marketplace
- Your browsing history, or any data from websites other than facebook.com
- Your precise geolocation. A listing's location is content you wrote, and it stays on your device
- Payment or financial information. Relistr is free and has no payment system
- Data from anyone under 18. Facebook Marketplace requires users to be 18 or older, and Relistr is not directed at children

7. Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, trade, or transfer your personal data to third parties. The only third party involved at all is PostHog, which processes analytics on our behalf as described in section 4. We do not use your data for advertising, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
We may disclose data if legally required to do so, though in practice we hold almost nothing that could be disclosed: your listings and photos are on your own device, not ours.
Limited Use disclosure
Relistr's use of information received from Google APIs, and its handling of all user data, adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Relistr only collects, uses, and transmits data necessary for its single purpose of relisting your own Facebook Marketplace listings.
8. Security
Analytics is transmitted over HTTPS with modern TLS encryption. Everything else stays inside your browser's own protected extension storage, which other websites and other extensions cannot read. No method of storage is completely secure, but because Relistr holds no copy of your data, there is no central store of listings for anyone to breach.
9. Your rights and choices
- Turn off analytics: Relistr settings, "Share anonymous usage data".
- Delete a saved listing: remove it from the backlog in the panel.
- Delete everything: uninstall Relistr. Chrome deletes all of its stored data, including photos and backlog items.
- Access or export: your data is already on your machine and never left it, so there is nothing for us to hand over. If you would like a copy of the analytics associated with your install, email us with the request.
- Depending on where you live (EU or UK GDPR, the Australian Privacy Act, or the California CCPA), you may have further rights to access, correct, or erase data. Contact us and we will action them.
10. Children's privacy
Relistr is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy if Relistr's data practices change. The date at the top always reflects the current version. If a change is significant, such as beginning to store your listings on a server, we will announce it in the extension before it takes effect rather than changing this page quietly.
