# How to relist a Facebook Marketplace listing

To relist a Facebook Marketplace listing, delete the original and create a new one with the
same details. The new listing gets a new listing ID and URL, so it is new inventory rather than
an older item that has been refreshed. Facebook's built-in **Renew** button is quicker and
keeps the listing's history, but it does not make the listing new.

## Relist vs renew: what is the difference?

**Renewing** keeps the same listing. You keep its age, its saves, and any buyer conversations
attached to it.

**Relisting** deletes the item and posts it again, so it enters Marketplace as a new listing.
The cost is that it starts from zero: no age, no saves, no existing buyer threads.

Which is better depends on what you are trying to fix. Facebook does not publish how Marketplace
ranks listings, so nobody outside Meta can tell you the size of either effect. What is

## How to relist manually

1. **Open your Selling page.** Go to Facebook Marketplace and select "Selling" to see your
   active listings.
2. **Save the details first.** Copy the title, description, price, category, condition, and
   location, and download your own photos. Once the listing is deleted, this content is gone.
3. **Note your shipping settings.** Whether the item was local pickup only, shipping at a set
   price, or free shipping. This is the detail sellers most often lose.
4. **Delete the original listing.** Facebook documents this under

   first matters: two near-identical live listings is the pattern that gets flagged as a
   duplicate.
5. **Wait before reposting.** Reposting seconds after deleting is a recognisable pattern.

6. **Create the new listing.** Re-enter every field, re-upload the photos, and set shipping
   back to what it was.
